In many African countries, kids can only dream of going to school. Although education is paid for by some African governments, uniforms and the cost of school supplies are huge obstacles to overcome for families with an average income of $2 a day. Pens that dry out quickly under the relentless equatorial sun are big investments.
In a culture where herds of livestock are tended by children as young as six years old, school and an education are a luxury. Many African kids just wish they could be allowed to go to school. And all of them are asking for pens. |
